How to Use the Magic That Is All Around You
How to Use the Magic That Is All Around You

It’s Like Magic

We look at successful people and what they accomplished as if they did it by using some sort of magic.

And in a way, they did.

Every success begins with a thought.

From that thought comes all the ideas and actions that created the success.

Always, something was created from nothing.

And is there a better definition of magic?

Here are a few quotes from Charles F. Haanel and others that will cast a spell over you and help you create some magic of your own.

But thought works no magic transformations; it obeys natural laws; it sets in motion natural forces; it releases natural energies; it manifests in your conduct and actions, and these in turn react upon your friends and acquaintances, and eventually upon the whole of your environment. You can originate thought and, since thoughts are creative, you can create for yourself the things you desire.

— Charles F. Haanel

It’s not really magic, according to Haanel. And he’s right. We’re using the term magic in a tongue-in-cheeck sort of way. It seems like magic, though.

Or, you can take it as magic being nothing more than natural laws.

Whichever the case, yes, you can create for yourself the things you desire.

They are the architects of greatness, their vision lies within their souls, they peer beyond the veils and mists of doubt and pierce the walls of unborn Time. The belted wheel, the trail of steel, the churning screw, are shuttles in the loom on which they weave their magic tapestries. Makers of Empire, they have fought for bigger things than crowns and higher seats than thrones. Your homes are set upon the land a dreamer found. The pictures on its walls are visions from a dreamer’s soul.

— Herbert Kaufmann

This magic only works when what you’re after is bigger than earthly aims.

That’s why the constant exhortation to “Think Big!” and “Dream Big!”

In other words, if you’re going to dream, make your dream vast and exciting and huge.

Man is ignorant of the nature of his own being and powers. Even his idea of his limitations is based on experience of the past. There is therefore no reason to assign theoretical limits to what he may be, or what he may do.

Aleister Crowley, Magick

Why do you think what you think? Especially regarding what you can do or achieve?

Do you remember the story of the elephant?

Just because you think that there is something holding you back doesn’t mean that there actually is.

But the fact that you think so, makes it so.

You are more powerful and amazing than you think you are.

You can achieve and attain more than you think you can.

Just give yourself a chance.

You’ll see.

(Note: I know some people will not like the author of this quote. That’s okay. Run with it — and take wisdom from wherever you can.)

Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men’s blood…make big plans, aim high in hope and work.

— Daniel H. Burnham

Always make big plans.

Always have big goals.

Some will ask why?

I ask why not?

As I am fond of saying: “Shoot for the moon; even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.

You will like these books because they explain how to use the magic all around you.
