In Week One of The Master Key System, Charles F. Haanel asked, “Would you bring into your life more power? … More health? … More happiness?”

The answer is to get the consciousness associated with that which you desire. If you want more health, then you’d develop the “health consciousness.” Happiness? Then the “happiness consciousness.”

As Mr. Haanel wrote in the Letter of Transmittal for Week One:

Live the spirit of these things until they become yours by right. It will then become impossible to keep them from you.

The same hold true if you wish to bring more money into your life. If you want more money, then you need to develop the “money consciousness.”

Here is what Mr. Haanel wrote about the money consciousness in Week Twenty-three:

1. The money consciousness is an attitude of mind. It is the open door to the arteries of commerce. It is the receptive attitude. Desire is the attractive force which sets the current in motion and fear is the great obstacle by which the current is stopped or completely reversed and turned away from us.

The money consciousness is an “attitude of mind.”

If you wish to make money, then you must become aware of the way money works …

… how it is made …

… how it is transferred …

… how it flows.

It’s not only the awareness that we live in an “abundant Universe.” It’s an understanding of how the (money) system works and how to tap into that (money) system.

As Haanel wrote, “It is the open door to the arteries of commerce.”

Commerce. It is defined in Wikipedia as …

… the exchange of goods and services from the point of production to the point of consumption to satisfy human wants. It comprises the trading of something of economic value such as goods, services, information, or money between two or more entities.

This is what Mr. Haanel is talking about in Week Twenty-three.

That’s the point that most people miss as they study The Master Key System. It’s the “method.”

Thought leads to …

… action which yields …

… results.

You see a human want and develop an idea to satisfy that want.

You execute your idea by making plans and meeting people.

You sell your product or service and make a profit.

That’s the “money consciousness” and it shapes your thoughts and influences your actions into commerce.

Your goal is to “satisfy human wants.”

When you pursue that goal, you will become a “player” in the “game.”

This is only possible as you are confident and strong.

You must be proud of what you do and what you offer.

Otherwise, you will succumb to fear.

Fear breeds inactivity, which engenders no results.

Fear brings about the “poverty consciousness” because it stifles your participation in the life of commerce. It limits you and keeps you in place.

That’s why it’s the “opposite from the money consciousness.”

Be confident and fearless.

Know that you can solve any problem set before you.

Look at others. See their wants and needs.

Then satisfy those wants and needs.

As you help others get what they want and need, you will be able to satisfy your personal wants and needs.

Because you will become rich.

Because you will have developed the money consciousness.

And it will be “yours by right.”
